THE Government of Papua New Guinea should be commended and complimented for its support towards a trilateral agricultural project agreement between PNG, China and Thailand. This is according to Chinese Ambassador to PNG, Xue Bing.
Mr Xue said this at the signing ceremony between Kumul Agriculture Limited, Cocoland Sugar Development of Thailand and Tianjin Machinery and Electrical Equipment of China. He was positive about what the project prornised for PNGuineans.
“Today’s project will benefit the local people, as the minister has said and it will create many job opportunities”.
He said the Chinese company from Tian Jing Machinery and Electrical Equipment Import and Export is very professional. Im sure it will do a good job in setting up the factory, and we hope to see early production of sugar,”
Mr Xue also congratulated the Cocoland sugar development for bringing their technology from Thailand to PNG.
Earlier, Mr Xue also congratulated the government on the successful hosting of APEC 2018 when they hosted President Xi Jinping.
“You know this was the first head of state visit from China to PNG, It achieved a lot of good results to bring benefits to the local people.”
He thanked the government for giving a good reception to the president of China. “Although some reports say there was no declaration during APEC, it was failure. But as a matter of fact, it was not true. APEC meeting hosted by PNG was a huge success.
“He also said people had different views and opinions on the world economy, especially on the reform of the WTO (world trade organisation) system.
“Of course the United States has its own opinions and China has our own opinion, and credit goes to Prime Minister Peter O’Neill for his strong leadership as Chairman of APEC”.
